EARLY LIFE

Andre Erving's story begins in a mostly Black, middle-class neighborhood in Chicago, IL, where he was born to two dedicated working-class parents. From an early age, his parents instilled in him the importance of having a clear vision for his life, the value of helping others, and the necessity of setting and achieving goals. They believed that by nurturing these ideals, they could prepare Andre to navigate the complexities of the world around him. Despite the challenges he faced growing up, including financial difficulties, societal expectations, and personal struggles, Andre learned resilience from his parents. Their unwavering support and strong work ethic served as a powerful motivator, teaching him that hard work and determination could help him overcome any obstacle.

EDUCATION

In 2007, Andre Erving embarked on his educational journey in Computer Information Systems at City Colleges of Chicago. This initial step laid a strong foundation for his career in IT, as he graduated with a diploma and two certificates, marking the beginning of his professional path. Following his time at City Colleges, Andre diligently pursued his academic goals. He enrolled at DeVry University, earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. During this period, he also sought to enhance his skills and knowledge by obtaining various professional certificates, further strengthening his expertise. Now, as a Doctoral Candidate at Walden University, Andre is actively engaged in advanced research, aiming to contribute to the field of I/O Psychology at a higher academic level.

Erving's career spans over two decades and has been marked by a diverse range of experiences across various industries, from information technology to healthcare to transportation to name a few. His journey has been a remarkable one, highlighting his adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit. Starting in the IT sector, Andre honed crucial skills that laid the groundwork for his future ventures. His technical expertise not only fueled his early career but also provided him with a unique perspective on the importance of innovation and efficiency in any industry. Over time, Andre transitioned into transportation, where he found his true passion.
