Andre Erving is a Chicago native with a passion for technology, business, and empowering others. Born and raised in the Roseland community, I learned early on the value of hard work and community support. My journey began in the IT field, where I earned a degree in Computer Information Systems from the City Colleges of Chicago, followed by bachelor’s and master’s degrees from DeVry University. These experiences laid the groundwork for my professional life.
Early Life and Career
Andre Erving’s journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to helping others. Born on December 13, 1981, in Roseland, a working-class neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, Andre’s upbringing was shaped by the values instilled by his parents. They emphasized the importance of having a clear vision, the value of hard work, and the necessity of uplifting those around them.
These lessons became foundational in his life, particularly as he faced difficulties and societal challenges during his formative years. Initially carving a path in the IT industry, Andre found success as a technician, showcasing his passion for technology and problem-solving. Initially carving a path in the IT industry, Andre found success as a technician, showcasing his passion for technology and problem-solving. He began his formal education at City Colleges of Chicago, earning a diploma and two certificates in Computer Information Systems.
This background laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors, and he continued his education at DeVry University, earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. His relentless pursuit of knowledge led him to achieve several professional certificates, further enhancing his expertise. However, Andre's career trajectory took a significant turn when he entered the transportation industry.
Drawing on his technical skills and logistics knowledge, he became a truck driver and eventually transitioned to a truck driver trainer, later becoming an owner-operator. This shift allowed him to focus solely on transportation, leading him to establish a freight brokerage and later become a freight broker trainer. Andre has educated over 100,000 individuals globally on starting, operating, and growing their transportation brokerages, as well as over 80,000 on managing successful trucking companies.

Andre is committed to empowering others to be the best versions of themselves. By investing in and launching Roseland Companies, he will help underserved communities while supporting the growth of startups and small businesses. Andre is pursuing a doctoral degree at Walden University, focusing on Public Administration.
His research endeavors aim to contribute to the transportation community while providing insights that foster personal and organizational growth. This pursuit of lifelong learning underscores his conviction in the importance of education as a vital component of success.
